Both ladies have been associated to Johan Suttorp ‘s Atelier Dijkzicht – Amsterdam for many years as members and apprentices.Their paintings show a powerful, expressionist brush stroke, both in abstract and figurative images.
Elisabeth Spits is curator of ships models at the Amsterdam Maritime Museum, as well as an active boat owner.
Ships and other elements related to the water are omnipresent in her figurative work
