Narcisio Simon a.k.a. Nel Simon (1938) was born and raised  in Seru Fortuna Curacao. In 1972 he received a scholarship from the University of Burlington, Vermont (U.S.A.) to study ceramics. In 1992 he received the Cola Debrot Prize for Fine Arts in the Netherlands Antilles. In 1996 Nel Simon received two special commissions: ‘DESENKADENA’ ,  the national monument of Curacao and ‘MAMA AFRIKA’ , centerpiece for the Kura Hulanda Museum in Curacao, both executed in bronze.

The Opening/Vernissage will take place on Saturday 7th AUGUST 2010, 16.00 hrs. at the
Royal Gallery – Koningsstraat 37 – 1011 ET Amsterdam – City Center.
